Alice France selects Pirelli to supply new AliceBox triple-play gateways

April 10, 2008 – Alice France, a division of Telecom Italia that supplies broadband services in France, has signed an agreement with Pirelli Broadband Solutions for the latter to provide broadband gateways to the ISP.

Under the terms of the agreement, Pirelli will provide the new AliceBox generation DRG-AE225G, which will enable broadband and media centre applications such as high-speed Internet, IPTV, VoIP and WiFi connectivity with automatic setup and sharing of an external USB storage device or printer from any point of the home network.  The new AliceBox is remotely manageable and includes Quality of Service (QoS) capabilities.

Telecom Italia had 1mn customers in France at the end of last year and 901,000 ADSL subscribers.
