KT adds History

April 9, 2008 – Korean telco KT has signed a deal with AETN Intl., the overseas division of A&E Television Networks, to add a branded high-definition VoD version of the History channel to the telco’s IPTV service, called “MegaTV”.

The History HD VoD service will form part of MegaTV from this summer.  Launched last July, the IPTV service has already reached 550,000 subscribers.

AETN has also launched HD History channels in the UK, US, Scandinavia and central Europe.  “We expect to take them out throughout Asia and Latin America over the next 12 months,” said Sean Cohan, Senior Vice President of International Business Development & Digital Media for AETN.
