Neuf Cegetel adds programming from Brazil’s TV Globo International

April 4, 2008 – Brazilian television network TV Globo International has set up its own IPTV channel in France following a deal with local telco Neuf Cegetel, according to reports.

Globo programming will now be available on channel 509 of Neuf Cegetel’s service, and will be available to subscribers for free during April, before reverting to premium positioning in May.

Marcelo Spinola, Director of International Distribution for Globo, commented that the network hopes to target all Portuguese speakers living in France with the new channel: “Our partnership with Neuf Cegetel is very important to us, opening more distribution platforms for our channel in France, where, aside from the great number of Brazilians, there is also a huge Portuguese community.  This, undoubtedly, will be an excellent alternative for our potential subscribers.”
