AT&T adds new HBO high-definition channels to U-verse

April 2, 2008 – AT&T has announced the addition of three new high-definition Home Box Office (HBO) channels to its “U-verse” IPTV service, bringing the total number of HD channels available on the service to over 40.

The three new channels are HBO2 HD, HBO Comedy HD and HBO Family HD, and are available as part of either a U400 subscription package or through the addition of an HBO or Movie package.

“We’re excited for U-verse TV customers to experience HBO’s original and compelling content in HD,” said Dan York, Head of Content and Programming for AT&T Entertainment Services.  “Today’s viewers demand an HD experience that offers more HD and more value – and we’re delivering on that demand with a growing HD lineup and important items like HD-capable equipment included in every programming package.”

An HD service is available for $10 per month with any U-verse TV programming package.
