Orange UK selects Witbe solutions for nationwide VoD rollout
March 12, 2008 - Witbe has revealed that during the soft rollout of Orange UK’s VoD service, it is assisting the telco to monitor the possible impact of last mile issues and parasitic signal interferences in the home environment.
Using robots placed at key points in their architecture, end-to-end video performance is segmented among the home environment, last mile, access network, and core network. Issues are pinpointed and corrected before rollout.
After rollout, Witbe robots are deployed in key areas where Orange is targeting new subscribers so the real Quality and User Experience can be maintained as the service scales up both technically and commercially.
Orange UK is a France Telecom subsidiary. Witbe’s IPTV-VOD monitoring solutions are already used by several France Telecom subsidiaries in Europe.
