Verimatrix secures TUŠ TELEKOM’s new IPTV service
March 12, 2008 – Verimatrix has confirmed that its Video Content Authority System (VCAS™) for IPTV has been deployed to secure video on demand (VOD) premium content as part of Slovenenian telco TUS TELEKOM’s IPTV offering.
Through the application of Internet cryptography, including PKI (Public Key Infrastructure) and X.509 digital certificates, VCAS is designed to offer higher levels of content protection than traditional smartcard systems and automatically identifies security breaches. VCAS for IPTV is designed for two-way networks and has been integrated with Dreampark’s middleware and Envivio’s headend equipment for the TUS TELEKOM platform.
“It is of paramount importance that our personalized television model is totally secure,” said Marc Witteveen, IPTV project manager, TUS TELEKOM. “Verimatrix delivered a solution that not only added to the overall value of our network, but was cost-effective and quick to implement. An added benefit is that Verimatrix’s system will allow us to easily scale as uptake of our network increases.”
TUŠ TELEKOM offers quad-play services in its domestic market, which includes fast Internet access via xDSL technologies, IP television and fixed and mobile telephony, marketed under the brand name Tušmobil.
