Industria and Edgeware form strategic technology partnership
March 10, 2008 – Industria, a provider of IPTV solutions, and Edgeware, a Swedish provider of server systems for on-demand TV, have announced that they have signed a strategic agreement which focuses on close technical cooperation between the two companies.
Industria recently announced Zignal Cloud, which enables service providers to subscribe to the Zignal middleware solution as a service; lowering total cost of ownership, and decreasing time to market.
“We are truly excited to strengthen the relationship with Edgeware,” said Thorsteinn Yngvi Gudmundsson, VP Product Development at Industria. “Being able to offer service providers running their operation on Zignal Cloud pre-integrated access to the Edgeware solutions creates clear a business value for them. And for the end user it ensures Time-shift TV, VoD and nPVR are available from the start.”
Göran Appelquist VP Business Development at Edgeware commented: “Edgeware is pleased that the Orbit 2x on-demand server system is integrated with the innovative Zignal platform. We see the interest in rolling Time-shift TV services picking up rapidly among the service providers, and with the joint solution we can offer an attractive solution.”
Currently Zignal Cloud is available by invitation only, but will be commercially available in the third quarter of 2008.
Edgeware’s Orbit 2x on-demand server system will be showcased at the IPTV World Forum, being held in London later this week – for more information please click here
