Telefonia Bonairiano selects AmiNET 125 STB for IPTV service

March 10, 2008 – Telefonia Bonairiano (Telbo), located in the Dutch Caribbean, has selected Amino’s AmiNET 125 multi-codec set-top box (STB) for its new IPTV service, called “mitv”.

The mitv service consists of a Basic Package of around 40 channels, including HBO, Discovery and FOX, as well as an Extended Basic Package and packages serving specific customer requirements (International, Sport, Action, adult content and 3 premium movie packages).  The service is being delivered over an ADSL2+ network and was developed by Telbo, Savant Communications and Manycast Consultancy.

“We wanted to expand our basic platform and offer more value to our customers,” said Edsel Winklaar, Managing Director of Telbo.  “With Amino’s proven performance in other markets similar to ours, the AmiNET 125 was an obvious choice for us.  We hope to repeat the success of this initial deployment in other islands in the region.”
