Tiscali launches new PVR
March 6, 2008 – Tiscali has introduced a new PVR for its “Tiscali TV” IPTV service in the UK, featuring a 160 GB hard drive.
The new Tiscali+ PVR also features three TV tuners, allowing the user to record two channels while watching a third, as well as supporting the reception of high-definition content. The unit can also connect to BBC’s iPlayer catch-up service and Channel 4’s 4oD own service, and Tiscali is reportedly in talks with ITV and Channel 5 to add their catch-up content soon.
“We know the British public no longer wants to be dictated to by linear schedules, as they increasingly look towards methods of personalising their TV viewing,” said Jonathon Sykes, MD of Content Strategy for Tiscali.
The new PVR has a one-off fee of £50, and new customers will need to sign up to a 12 month contract costing £15.99 a month for the first three months and £19.99 a month thereafter.
