ADB to showcase latest home networking set-top box solutions at the IPTV World Forum
February 27, 2008 - Advanced Digital Broadcast (ADB) is to showcase its latest home networking set-top box solutions for IPTV operators at this year’s IPTV World Forum, following the recent attainment of Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) and Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) certifications.
The software is integrated into the ADB-5810TWX and ADB-3800TW products, allowing consumers to share content around the networked home. The ADB-5810TWX is a premium STB offering digital video recorder features, while the ADB-3800TW is a hybrid, single-chip, high-definition STB which won last year’s IPTV World Series Award for “Best IPTV customer premise equipment technology”. The company will also be demonstrating its entry-level ADB-2500W, designed specifically to provide operators with a cost-effective migration path to TV centric services such as video on demand.
“We have focused on building a state-of-art product portfolio to ensure that operators can further optimise their customer revenue streams,” said Karl Tempest-Mitchell, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for ADB. “From entry level products through to fully-featured, home networking-enabled digital video recorders, we are able to adapt to both short-term requirements for new service launches, and ultimately the long term goal of tiered service development, ensuring that we enable operators to stay ahead of competition at all stages of their commercial evolution.”
ADB has partnered with a number of IPTV operators in both Europe and the Americas, supporting a number of high volume hybrid service launches including FastWeb, HanseNet, Telefonica Group and Telefonica O2 Czech Republic.
