Tektronix introduces new compressed video transport stream monitor
February 25, 2008 – Tektronix, a US provider of test-measurement and monitoring equipment, has introduced its new MTM400A MPEG Transport Stream Monitor, designed to enable broadcasters and operators to detect signal degradation and featuring a new user interface.
The MTM400A features the new FlexVuPlus configurable common user interface for both confidence and diagnostic monitoring, designed to improve communication handover between operator and engineer. FlexVuPlus is a browser enabled, user definable interface which enables the display of up to four panels in the UI window, as well as providing a user definable “button strip”, “historical views” and “short-cuts”.
“With increasing complexity and investment requirements, broadcasters and MSOs need test and monitoring instruments that provide greater capabilities and more intuitive operation,” commented Arif Kareem, Vice President, Video Product Line for Tektronix. “The new MTM400A with FlexVuPlus provides the integrated confidence and diagnostic monitoring to support broadcasters and MSOs in delivering superior QoS to maximise subscriber growth and advertising revenue. This is achieved through improved information delivery, presentation and digital workflow.”
Shipments of the new MTM400A with FlexVuPlus will commence this month, and the new FlexVuPlus UI and System Software will be made available as a free of charge upgrade for existing MTM400A owners.
