DVEO introduces low latency HD encoder/decoder for IPTV and video conferencing

February 19, 2008 – US firm DVEO, the broadcast division of CMI, has announced the launch of its new “InstaView HD” low latency H.264 high-definition or standard-definition encoder/decoder for IPTV and videoconferencing.

The new system delivers high-definition (up to 1080p) or standard-definition video and super wideband audio across IP networks, with end-to-end latency of under 70 milliseconds.  The system also features web-based management, closed captioning support, video noise filtering and reduction, and text or logo insertion.

“Our customers are excited about this new technology,” said Laszlo Zoltan, Sales Manager for DVEO.  “Because it uses 60% less bandwidth, H.264 is ideal for streaming video.  When you combine that with our end-to-end latency of less than 70 milliseconds, plus high resolution HD video, this is a powerful tool for interactive video communications.  We recommend the InstaView HD for video conferencing, IPTV, event broadcasts, electronic news gathering (ENG), and streaming high quality HD content from a location shoot to a studio."

The InstaView HD costs US$25,000, and an optional version is available with up to five two-way HD channels, capable of sending multiple unicast or multicast streams from a single system.
