XAVi launches IPTV set-top box with integrated 802.11n and DVB-T functionality

February 19, 2008 – Taiwanese firm XAVi has launched a new HD-capable IPTV set-top box called the Pisces111, which integrates a built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi receiver and DVB-T tuner.

The Pisces111 IP-STB has three MIMO antennas to deliver fast streaming of video content around the home, as well as DVB-T, DVB-C and DVB-S2 tuners, and can also support H.264/MPEG-2/VC-1 formats and IPV6, in line with other members of the Pisces family of products.  A 160 GB hard drive is also optional for the device, and in the future TV conferencing functionality will also be supported, according to XAVi.

“We are very excited to launch the Pisces111, and believe this product is a breakthrough for XAVi in the video/audio industry,” said Mr. Wenston Lee, co-founder and CEO of XAVi.  “By integrating core technologies in various applications, we can provide effective multimedia solutions and innovative values to our customers.”
