Cisco to showcase IPTV service innovation and quality for today’s ‘Connected Life’ experiences
February 18, 2008 – Cisco has released details of the solutions it plans to showcase at the IPTV World Forum to be held in London this March, helping providers to deliver service innovation and total quality of experience (QoE).
Cisco will feature solutions that help all provider sectors to deliver total QoE on a mass market scale, including IP Next-Generation Networks (IP NGN) optimised for multiple-play services combining video, voice, data and mobility, next-generation set-top boxes and Connected Home solutions. The company is bringing together the video expertise of Scientific Atlanta with Linksys’ home networking solutions to showcase a comprehensive, fully-integrated solution.
Showcase demonstrations at the event will include cross-platform video delivery to offer true mobility; Cisco Visual Quality Experience (VQE) technology; Scientific Atlanta’s D9054 Advanced Video Coding (AVC) MPEG-4 encoder; digital content management solutions from Scientific Atlanta; and Cisco’s Advanced Advertising Architecture.
Cisco executives are also speaking at the event conferences, including Jean-Christophe Dessange, Head of IPTV & News Media Business Development, who will deliver a presentation on Video 2.0 on March 12th; and Nick Fielibert, VP, CTO and Chief Architect for Scientific Atlanta Europe & Asia, who will be speaking on the March 12th IP Cable panel “What are the opportunities for cable using more switched and IP video?”
