Neuf Cegetel reaches 750,000 IPTV subs, adds five new channelsFebruary 12, 2008 – French alternative telco Neuf Cegetel has announced that it reached 750,000 subscribers for its IPTV service at the end of last year, up from 600,000 at the end of June 2007, as well as adding five new international channels.
Neuf Cegetel also had 3.22mn DSL customers at the end of 2007, up from 2.2mn at the end of the previous year, giving it a 21% share of the French broadband market. The telco reported that total revenues reached €3.3bn for 2007, up 15.6% from the €2.9bn posted one year previously. Neuf Cegetel projects that it is targeting a sales growth of at least 20% for the consumer market in 2008. Neuf Cegetel recently added five new international channels to its IPTV service, including two Brazilian channels not broadcast on other platforms in France. The five channels are TV Record Europa, a Brazilian family entertainment channel with sport, news and novelas; Record News, a Brazilian news channel; CLP TV, an entertainment channel for the Portuguese community; Apsara TV, a general-appeal Cambodian channel; and Guyson TV, offering news in French from Guyson International News. |
