France Telecom reaches 1.243mn IPTV subscribers

February 7, 2008 – France Telecom has announced in its annual results that it reached 1.243mn subscribers for its IPTV service “Orange TV” at the end of last year.

The telco, which offers IPTV service in both France and Spain, added that 90% or 1.149mn subscribers were in France.  France Telecom also said that it was pleased with the success of its video on demand service in France, with 2.5mn paid downloads last year.

France Telecom reported that it had a total of 11.7mn broadband customers across Europe at the end of last year, up 25% from 2006, of which 7.3mn were in France.

Total revenues for 2007 reached €53bn, up 2.4% year on year, and net profit reached €10.8bn.
