BT more than doubles BT Vision subscribers in Q3
February 7, 2008 – BT has announced that it more than doubled the number of subscribers to its “BT Vision” IPTV service in the third quarter of its fiscal year ending December 31, 2007.
The number of BT Vision subscribers reached 120,000 by the end of last year, and is now at over 150,000. BT also added 511,000 broadband subscribers in the three months to December 31 of last year, of which BT’s retail share was 35%.
“This has been another solid performance,” said Ben Verwaayen, CEO of BT. “We have delivered our twenty third consecutive quarter of year on year earnings per share growth. We remain the UK’s number one retail broadband provider with 35% of the installed DSL and LLU base, and BT Vision customers more than doubled in the quarter.”
BT posted total revenue of £5.15bn for the three months to December 31 of last year, up 1% from the same period of the previous year. Profit for the period reached £475, down 2% by the same comparison.
