Tele2 selects Digital Fountain’s ToughStream solution to bolster IPTV service
February 6, 2008 – Digital Fountain, a US provider of standardised solutions for digital media delivery, has announced that Dutch IPTV provider Tele2 Nederland has selected its ToughStream Solution to further improve their IPTV service.
ToughStream is now live and operational following successful trials, providing protection against “glitches” or visible errors that can occur when delivering real-time media over IP networks and encountering packet-loss, latency or out-of-order delivery.
“Digital Fountain is committed to solving the inherent problems that surround all IPTV deployments, and ensure consumers are delivered the highest level of quality of experience and service,” said Charlie Oppenheimer, CEO of Digital Fountain. “We are pleased that one of the most successful IPTV service providers has selected ToughStream to provide the very best viewing experience and quality of service to their subscribers.”
ToughStream is powered by Digital Fountain’s DF Raptor technology, which has been adopted by several transmission standards, including DVB-IPTV, DVB-H, 3GPP and MBMS.
