AT&T adds eight HD channels to U-verse line-up

December 18, 2007 – AT&T has announced that it has added eight high-definition (HD) channels to its U-verse TV service.

The new channels offered are Animal Planet HD, CNN HD, Discovery HD, Science Channel HD, Starz Kids & family HD, Superstation WGN in HD, TLC HD, VERSUS and GOLF CHANNEL HD.  U-verse subscribers now have access to over 40 HD channels in most markets where the service is available.

“We know that consumers are craving more and more HD content, and our AT&T U-verse TV HD line-up will keep expanding to meet their needs,” said Dan York, Head of Content and Programming for AT&T Entertainment Services.  “All of these networks are great additions to our extensive HD line-up.  We’re providing more of the content that our customers want.”

The HD service costs $10 per month and is available with any U-verse TV package.  All U-verse TV packages include HD-ready equipment, and most include an HD-ready digital video recorder (DVR).
