artec technologies forms partnership with Ericsson

December 13, 2007 – artec technologies, a German supplier of products and solutions for streaming media and IPTV, has announced that it has formed a partnership with Ericsson to deliver white label hosting solutions for Web TV/IPTV and video on demand (VOD).

artec technologies reports that its target customers for the partnership will be primarily network operators and content providers in Germany.  The company currently develops and markets products and solutions based on the XentauriX platform, used for IPTV applications as well as recording live TV and radio broadcasts.

The company announced last October that it is checking a potential infringement of its patent rights by German telco Arcor regarding the “Timeshift restart” function of the telco’s planned IPTV service, a network-based recording and playback feature which Arcor believes could infringe its own patents.
