Tunisie Telecom selects Alcatel-Lucent broadband access solutions to enable triple-play and VPNs
December 12, 2007 – Alcatel-Lucent has announced that it has been awarded a “multi-million Euro” contract by Tunisie Telecom to deploy a DSL-based network solution, supporting the future deployment of broadband services including IPTV, high-speed Internet, VoIP and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) for enterprises.
The project is expected to be completed by early 2008, and Alcatel-Lucent will provide its Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) product family, including the 7302 ISAM and 7330 ISAM FTTN (Fibre to the Node). The solution also includes the 5523 ADSL Workstation element management system and 5330 Network Analyzer DSL testing and quality solution.
“Thanks to Alcatel-Lucent’s DSL solution, we will be able to further expand the penetration of broadband services in Tunisia and pave the way for the introduction of a variety of new services for the consumers such as IPTV and for enterprises such as high speed data lines and VPN,” said Ahmed Mahjoub, CEO of Tunisie Telecom.
