STAR TV increases reach in North America with KylinTV deal

December 3, 2007 – Asian TV service STAR TV has signed a deal with broadband TV platform KylinTV, a Chinese-language service offered in the US, to expand the former’s distribution in North America.

From December 1, KylinTV started offering Taiwanese entertainment channel STAR Chinese Channel, and in the coming months will add the music service Channel [V] Taiwan and a channel dedicated to classic Chinese movies.

“KyLinTV’s customer base is a perfect fit for STAR’s sought after programming,” said David Wisnia, STAR’s VP for Distribution and Sales and head of its North American office. “Bringing these highly popular Mandarin channels to viewers in North America underscores our commitment to better serving Chinese speaking audiences across the U.S. and Canada. From innovative game and talk shows and engaging drama series, to trend-setting youth programs and popular Chinese movies, we are proud to offer viewers access to some of STAR’s most highly rated Chinese content.”

KylinTV is delivered over the open Internet to a dedicated set-top box.
