IPTV World Forum Asia – curtains up: Part Two
The third annual IPTV World Forum Asia will be held on 5-7 December 2007 in the Suntec Centre, Singapore. It will focus on the region’s fast-growing IPTV markets, including the emerging giants of China and India, as well as capitalise on the recent flurry of activity in Singapore itself.
We are providing a two part preview of some of the companies and solutions that can be found around the show in order to provide an insight into what can be expected at this year's event.
Cisco
Cisco will be showcasing its end-to-end IP Video solution at the forthcoming IPTV World Forum Asia, in Singapore. Bringing together the solutions and products from Scientific Atlanta and Linksys, Cisco is able to show the entire set-up of the network from the headend (Video Head Office) right up to the home of the consumer (Connected Home). Some of the exhibits on display are shown for the first time in the region like the Visual Quality Experience (VQE), a client-server architecture that brings better video quality to the homes, enhancing the consumer video experience. The entire booth will be set up with live demonstrations of the different components in a video-ready network. There will also be IP Video experts onsite to answer any queries for any service providers that are exploring or deploying IPTV.

Harris
Harris puts the "TV" in IPTV with solutions for headend video processing and media management, test and monitoring, graphics/branding, and advanced advertising, personalised and local content, as well as FLO, DVB-H and T-DMB transmission systems. Deployed in IPTV headends, Harris solutions improve workflows, save money, enable new revenue streams and provide migration paths to emerging media business models. Harris IPTV-enabling solutions on display at the IPTV World Forum include the NetVX™ video networking system and mCAPTURE™ compressed media stream recorder.

CIMA Technology
CIMA will demonstrate their new Elegance Product Series incorporating the Broadcom 7403 Chipset. All products are built on the same chipset delivering high performance and play any codec. The line is built out of the EC (Economic) pure IP, GL for IP/PVR solutions and the XL that includes Single or Dual Tuner DVB-T. The XL can also be delivered as a PVR box. CIMA products are delivered including all licenses and the CIMA Browser environment, based on Opera and a JAVA Scripting API. New software features for Q1 2008 will be a P2P client, Wi-Fi software and Video Conferencing.
