Polish telco Telefonia Dialog to launch IPTV service by beginning of next month

November 21, 2007 – Polish telco Telefonia Dialog is to launch an IPTV service in cooperation with its subsidiary Avista Media by the beginning of December, according to reports.

The telco has reportedly conducted successful tests and will launch broadcast and Video on Demand (VOD) content on the IPTV service, bundled with telephony and Internet access, in a triple play offer called “Dialog Media”.  Telefonia Dialog will use equipment provided by Nokia Siemens Networks, and plans to provide content encoded in MPEG-4 via ADSL technology over its entire broadband network, covering the west and south of the country.

Telefonia Dialog currently has 420,000 subscribers for its telephony services and 125,000 subscribers for its Internet services.  There are currently two other IPTV providers in the Polish market – Telekomunikacja Polska and Multimedia Polska, both of which launched services in 2006.
