Telefónica adds over 18,000 new subscribers to Imagenio IPTV service in Q3

November 19, 2007 – Telefónica España has reported that it added 18,142 new subscribers to its “Imagenio” IPTV service in the third quarter of this year, bringing the total number of subscribers to 469,000.

This gives the telco a 12% share of the Spanish pay-TV market.  Telefónica reported that revenues from its broadband operations in the first nine months of this year reached €2.058bn, up 16.8% from the same period of last year.  Total revenues for the first nine months of this year reached €15.462bn, up from €14.72bn registered in the same period of last year.  Operating income for the period reached €5.59bn, up from €4.949bn by the same comparison.

Telefónica reported that its Czech IPTV service “O2 TV” posted a net gain of 16,000 subscribers in the third quarter of this year, bringing the total customer base to 53,000 as of the end of September.
