NDS posts net profit of $46.3mn in Q3
October 29, 2007 – NDS has reported a net profit of $46.3mn for the third quarter of this year, up from the $35.1mn posted in the same period of the previous year.
Total revenue for the third quarter of this year reached $204.9mn, up 25% year-on-year. NDS delivered 7.4mn smart cards in the three months to September 2007, compared to 6.7mn in the same period of the previous year. The company deployed 1.5mn DVR clients in the third quarter of this year, up from 700,000 in the same period of the previous year. NDS deployed 8.1mn middleware clients in the third quarter of this year, up from 3.1mn deployed in the same period of the previous year.
“Our business has seen continued strong performance across the board as our deliveries of new technology grew strongly and our deployments in developing markets continued to gather momentum,” said Dr. Abe Peled, Chairman and CEO of NDS. “NDS continues to expand its R&D and delivery organisations across the world to meet customer demand for new projects, many of which will yield revenue only from the next financial year onwards. NDS is investing in R&D as well as selected acquisitions to ensure that it will be in a position to offer the leading solutions to its customers in the rapidly changing media delivery landscape.”
NDS now has a total of 78.6mn active digital TV smart cards deployed, a cumulative total of 69.9mn middleware clients deployed and a cumulative total of 8.8mn DVR clients deployed.
