AT&T adds 12 new channels to U-verse IPTV service
October 11, 2007 – AT&T has announced that it is adding 12 new channels to its U-verse IPTV service, including high-definition content, new digital music channels and Filipino, South Asian and Vietnamese programming.
U-verse TV is to add History Channel HD and Lifetime Movie Network HD to its high-definition line-up from October 15, bringing the total to 30 high-definition channels. Also being added is the U-verse TV Filipino Package, costing $21 per month and featuring GMA Pinoy TV and The Filipino Channel. New channels TV Asia and SET Asia will feature programming for the South Asian community, costing $15 per month each. Saigon Broadcasting Television Network (SBTN), a 24-hour Vietnamese-language channel, will be made available for $15 per month. The new international networks will be available from October 23.
New digital music channels and networks to be made available from October 15 will include BYU Television, Chiller, Fox Business Network, ION Life and MTV Network’s Urge digital music service.
“Our U-verse TV channel line-up keeps growing, and we’re thrilled to add these quality networks to our service, providing more choice for customers,” said Dan York, Head of Content and Programming for AT&T Entertainment Services. “With our increasing number of HD channels and international programming, we want all of our customers to know they can get the content they want from AT&T U-verse TV.”
Since launch in June 2006, AT&T has increased the channel line-up for its U-verse service from over 200 to 320.
