Industria to Work with Inuk Networks in Preparation for National IPTV Service Rollout February 5, 2007 - IPTV solutions and software specialist Industria announced today that Inuk Networks will deploy Industria’s Zignal IPTV solution as an integral element of the Inuk Freewire TV platform.
As part of this, Inuk Networks, a supplier of triple-play services to consumers, service providers and network operators, will licence Industria’s Zignal IPTV service management platform as it looks to build increased functionality and system management into its IPTV offering. In November this year Inuk Networks launched Freewire TV, a broadband IPTV service initially targeting students in university halls of residence around the country. Freewire TV currently offers a range of UK and international free-to-air digital television channels. The service is available initially to the 500,000 students in university halls of residence who are able to access the Freewire TV service via the existing high speed JANET network, which connects all higher and further education establishments in the UK. Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson, CEO of Industria commented: “I am delighted to be involved in such an exciting venture for both Industria and Inuk. We developed the Zignal software specifically to help companies take advantage of the booming IPTV services market and we look forward to helping Inuk implement it to its best effect.” Marcus Liassides, CEO of Inuk Networks commented: “Ultimately we intend to put Inuk in a position to roll out IPTV services on a national level. Our relationship with Industria and our use of Zignal is the first step towards developing the strategy that will allow us to achieve that goal.” |
