MoCA IPTV white paper
A traditional service provider, whether it is a telco, cable MSO or satellite (DBS) company, is no longer bounded by its core segment or original purpose. These service providers are quickly morphing into comprehensive purveyors of triple and quad play services for telephony (landline and cellular), Internet access and video and digital television. As Charles Hall of Rider Research and publisher of the Online Reporter has suggested recently, the term digital service provider perhaps more accurately reflects this evolutionary process. This paper will attempt to re-define the term IPTV while providing both an explanation and discussion of what we believe is the best IPTV environment for digital service providers.

VCAS for DVB - enabling hybrid networks
The introduction of hybrid DVB and IP pay-TV systems offers the potential for a tremendous expansion of entertainment services to consumers coupled with new and exciting interactive capabilities. Key to making such services cost effective is the optimisation of the content security architecture to enable a single system to handle both DVB broadcast content and IP-based video on demand. The new breed of content security architecture used within the Verimatrix Video Content Authority System (VCAS), employing cryptographic and e-commerce technologies proven on the Internet, can enable such a unified approach. This paper outlines the chief areas of weak security in the majority of IP video platforms and the steps that Video Furnace has taken to ensure its products deliver secure IP video. A future in content
Can telecom providers win a share of the digital content market?
High growth in digital content offers significant opportunities for telecommunications service providers (telcos). But telcos’ ability to capitalize on this potential is a point of contention and debate. Telcos clearly need upgraded networks and technology platforms to handle more sophisticated content and to extend their addressable market. But equally important, they must begin delivering value beyond just access – providing a step-change in consumer experience and grabbing their share of emerging channel advertising revenue.
