Worldwide IPTV subs up 36% in 2012
Demand for IPTV services picked up "significantly" last year, according to US research firm MRG, which estimates that the number of IPTV subscribers worldwide rose 36% in 2012 to reach 77mn, with strong growth in all geographic regions. -

IPTV to overtake cable in MENA by 2016
The number of homes in the Middle East and North Africa paying for IPTV services is expected to overtake that of cable TV in 2016, with Turkey and Egypt leading the way, according to new figures from UK firm Digital TV Research. -

Exciting times for digital TV in Sub-Saharan Africa
The digital TV revolution has well and truly arrived in Sub-Saharan Africa, with penetration set to increase from just over a third (35.3%) of TV homes at the end of 2012 to 95.5% by 2018, according to Digital TV Research.
