LG smart TVs taps into Rio 2016 excitement

LG Arena Sports Rio 2016An application called LG Arena Sports Limited Edition has been developed for LG by TV applications vendor Accedo to bring Rio 2016 to viewers across Brazil. The app is available for free to all customers with all models of LG Smart TV.

It’s been launched across Brazil in Portuguese and gives consumers access to the full range of Olympic content and events. It includes a range of videos, photos and news from the event, as well as a calendar of events and medals panel to enable viewers to keep up-to-date with the latest developments. Users can select content they want to access by sport.

“Having worked with Accedo to develop our application for the 2014 LG Arena Sports, it was a natural choice to partner with again for this application,” commented Vitor Schiavo, HE TV PM department at LG Electronics. “The result is a truly intuitive and compelling application, which will help consumers across Brazil keep up-to-date throughout the Olympic games.”

“There is understandably a great deal of excitement across Brazil as the host of the Olympic Games. Giving consumers access to the latest news and updates from the event will likely prove extremely popular,” said Michael Lantz, CEO at Accedo.
