Twitter-owned video sharing app Periscope claims to have surpassed the ten million mark for opened accounts since its launch four months ago.

In a blog post, however, the app stressed it was particularly gratified by the burgeoning usage of the application, with its Time Watched metric showing the most promising growth.

“We define Time Watched as the aggregate amount of time that people spend watching live broadcasts on iOS & Android,” reads the post. “As of last week, we’re seeing over 40 years of video watched per day.”
