As anyone who attended last month’s TV Connect can already testify, the world’s leading connected entertainment event arguably chalked up its best year yet.
Certainly it was the biggest TV Connect ever. With a 4% attendee increase and 83 countries represented, the 11th edition of the show amply demonstrated that the European market is consolidating around the event as a single hub for innovation.
The move to a new, larger venue, London’s ExCeL, was credited as allowing it to accommodate a larger audience and deliver a more inclusive event. “Seeing such a positive response from speakers, exhibitors and sponsors confirmed that we made the right choices,” comments Joanna Jones, Events Director at Informa Telecoms and Media, “and we are proud to enable companies to demonstrate that creativity is thriving in this industry.”
Meanwhile, the new size and scope was hailed by keynotes and vendors alike.
“The show is incredibly busy and very, very focused,” Simon Trudelle, Senior Director Product Marketing, NAGRA, told IP&TV News. “You can really meet the people you need to meet.”
“TV Connect is a great opportunity to get the temperature of what’s going on, what people are thinking of, and to make sure we aren’t lagging behind,” added Nick Coulter, Head of Digital, Western Europe, BBC Worldwide.
