Vimeo gives Chromecast update to iOS app

Up market video sharing site Vimeo has added an update to its iOS app that includes support for Google’s Chromecast streaming stick.

Thanks to the update, Vimeo users can now cast videos from their iPhone or iPad directly to their TV screen, using the Chromecast receiver and the free Vimeo app (which acts as the remote).

The capability is only the latest way for fans to enjoy Vimeo videos on their TV screens, joining existing options such as Couch Mode and Watch Later.

Vimeo says it is working hard to bring Chromecast capability to additional devices in the future.

Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor will be speaking at TV Connect 2015 (28th – 30th April 2015 ExCel, London)
