Internet TV giant Netflix has added Anne Sweeney and Brad Smith (who have executive experience with Disney and Microsoft respectively) to its board of directors.

The new appointments bring the total number of Netflix directors to nine. “We look forward to benefiting from Brad and Anne’s perspective as we continue to build our global Internet TV network,” says Reed Hastings, Netflix co-founder and chief executive.

Sweeney’s entertainment experience spans more than three decades including senior roles at the Walt Disney Co., 21st Century Fox and Viacom. Until she stepped down in January, she oversaw Disney’s cable, broadcast and satellite properties around the world since 2004. Smith, who has served as Microsoft’s general counsel since 2002, has amassed broad global technology and public policy experience since joining the company in 1993.

This year’s TV Connect (28th – 30th April 2015 ExCel, London) sees Xavier Amatrain, Research and Engineering Director, Netflix, delivering a special keynote, while BT’s Jerome Tassel will be asking ‘Who Can Push Netflix into Check?’ Click here to download the brochure.
