Multiscreen content delivery specialist Elemental has announced the expansion of its product line to support statistical multiplexing and enhanced management operations in large-scale video processing deployments.

At NAB 2015, Elemental will demonstrate the new solutions. Elemental Statmux is A software-based multi-codec, multi-resolution statistical multiplexer that allows operators to mix and match different codecs within their workflows and delivery networks.

For more sophisticated 4K UHD TV and unified headend strategies, Elemental Live encoders can ingest 4K UHD or HD content and transcode it into parallel HEVC UHD and MPEG-2 or H.264 HD and SD streams, allowing a single system to create multi-resolution channel statmux outputs from a single source.

“As traditional and multiscreen video operations converge over the next decade, robust software-defined video solutions which cover encoding, statistical multiplexing, monetization and advanced management will be best positioned to serve the industry,” Keith Wymbs (CMO at Elemental), told IP&TV News.

Elemental will be exhibiting at TV Connect (28 – 30 April 2015 ExCel, London). Click here for booking and more info.
