UK commercial broadcaster UKTV today launches its popular on-demand service UKTV Play on Android.

The free UKTV Play app (already available on iOS, PC and YouView ) offers a catalogue of hit shows from the UK’s most watched non-PSB channel, Dave, to the UK’s number one factual history channel, Yesterday.

“We created UKTV Play so that viewers can watch UKTV’s great shows anytime, anywhere,” comments Dan Fahy, UKTV’s Director, Commercial and Business. “When we launched UKTV Play on iOS last year, Apple chose to feature it as one of their ‘Best New Apps’, which is testament to its popularity, design and functionality. I feel confident the millions of people with Android devices are going to really love it too.”
