Apple enters OTT talks with programmers

Is Apple heading for OTT TV?

Following Apple’s repeated (and more often than not disappointing) efforts to break into TV, fresh reports are suggesting that the tech giant is now busily preparing the ground for an OTT TV product.

The story comes from US tech publication re/code, which asserts that Apple is already in talks with TV programmers, and has even shared demos with them.

The report adds that the embryonic product would be analogous to those of Dish’s Sling TV and Sony’s own upcoming OTT.

Re/code says that the talks are at an early stage, with details such as timing and pricing a long way from being settled. Officially, Apple has declined to comment: the story originates from unnamed executives.
