AMC Networks International today announced an agreement with DIRECTV Latin America to launch AMC this month.

The network will be made available on DIRECTV in seven Spanish-speaking countries including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

AMC in Latin America features series such as the exclusive original drama “Halt & Catch Fire,” produced by AMC Studios. In addition, the channel features films from the world’s biggest film libraries, including MGM, Paramount and Sony. The network recently launched on key pay-TV platforms in other regions throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

“AMC has become synonymous with bold, dramatic storytelling of the highest quality,” says Ed Palluth, ‎Executive Vice President of Global Distribution, AMC Networks International. “This new agreement will allow us build upon this success, growing the AMC brand internationally and creating a far-reaching platform for our original content. DIRECTV has made remarkable strides in Latin America and we are thrilled to partner with them in bringing AMC’s outstanding programming to audiences throughout the region.”
