Virgin Media goes to Nollywood

Virgin Media is adding ten more international channels to its TV service, including premium channel Nollywood Movies, the first 24 hour movie channel dedicated to showing movies from the Nigerian film industry.

In addition to showing over 35 different movies every month, with a daily premiere at 7pm, Nollywood Movies also broadcasts the popular African soap opera Tinsel along with entertainment news, celebrity interviews and red carpet events on channel 835. Popular African series Windeck and brand new soap Calabash will also be come to the channel in January.

“We are delighted to launch our channel on the Virgin Media platform and believe viewers will enjoy the variety of movies and soaps on offer,” comments Alfred Soroh, Executive Director at Nollywood Movies.

The new channels join Virgin Media’s existing line up of international content, which includes popular channels Zee TV, Star Plus, Sony Max and Al Jazeera Arabic. A list of the channels available on Virgin Media can be found here.
