Wuaki.tv previews new UI and 4K content at IFA

Movie and TV series streaming service Wuaki.tv today announced a new Smart TV app with 4K capabilities will be shown for the first time at IFA, in Berlin. This new app will enable viewers to watch Wuaki.tv content in 4K ultra high definition (UHD), and provides an all new user interface. LG and Samsung, both existing Wuaki.tv partners, will be demonstrating the app at IFA this week.

“Offering our content in 4K UHD is one of our most important and relevant strategic moves for Wuaki.tv”, comments Jordi Miró, CTO of Wuaki.tv. “It reflects two of our biggest objectives; to stand out in the market with superior technology, and to offer our viewers the most satisfying movie experience.”

In addition to the new 4K content, Wuaki.tv has revealed a new app for the current range of Smart TVs where the service is already available. The new app includes an improved user interface that combines the best features of interactive TV with the performance of the best smart TVs, including:

  • Streamlined e-commerce systems. Wuaki.tv is a pioneer in bringing e-commerce systems from the traditional web environment to the world of interactive TV, helping to revolutionise home entertainment consumption.
  • The ability to easily browse through the different streaming options, rental and purchase, Wuaki.tv offers.
  • A new feature that recommends content based on the user profile, aiming to highlight the best movies and TV shows available on Wuaki.tv for each type of user, improving the experience while making it easier to discover new titles to enjoy

Roger Bretos, Chief Design Officer of Wuaki.tv, adds “We have been working hard to come up with this innovative interface that really matches our user’s requirements. The new UI enhances the user’s experience, is easy to use, and visually pleasant. We accomplished a great challenge for my team so I’m particularly proud of it.”
