Netflix plots 2015 Spanish launch?

Netflix is planning a second wave of launches in their ongoing European expansion – including a major launch in Spain – sometime in the final quarter of 2015, according to unnamed Netflix sources cited in a report in the Spanish media.

Such a launch would be the latest stage in Netflix’s relatively tentative insertion into the tricky and fragmented European market, joining additional planned launches in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg.

The Spanish launch would see the US streaming giant go head-to-head with well-established Spanish service, which already boasts 1.2 million Spanish users.
