Special one-two, one-two: Jose Mourinho signs for BT Sport

Jose Mourinho has signed a three-year deal with BT Sport. Often said to be markedly preoccupied with media discourse, the move arguably gives Mourinho a greater opportunity to influence it, following a season which saw his on and off-pitch tactics exposed to an unusual degree of criticism from the British media.

Mourinho has agreed to carry out various roles for BT Sport, including making football programmes, acting as a football expert and giving a manager’s perspective, and becoming a BT Sport ambassador.

“I’m looking forward to working with BT Sport,” explains Mourinho. “In their first year they have shown they are not afraid to challenge, are open to new ideas and want to do things differently. This is the kind of team and ambition that I want to work with.”
