TV Analytics start-up announces first signings

Croatia’s largest pay-TV platform Hrvatski Telekom is the first company to partner with TVbeat, a London-based start-up that provides real-time TV audience measurement to pay-TV platforms, broadcasters and media buyers. The partnership will allow Hrvatski Telekom to access quality data about viewing behaviour live on a second-by-second basis, providing detailed insights into viewer consumption, helping to determine genres, habits and trends.

Hrvatski Telekom’s Jerko Dumanić, director of Marketing (B2B) comments:  “Hrvatski Telekom has a proven track record in pioneering innovation: from launching state-of-the art new technologies such as Terastream to new services such as Smart Metering and NFC payments. We are confident we can also apply innovation to the field of big data, an area of an enormous business potential. Today, data is the one of the most important assets in the telecommunication industry and we believe TVbeat is the right partner to help us transform raw data into intelligent information in order to improve customer experience and generate new business opportunities for us and our customers.”

At the same time Iskon, the Hrvatski Telekom-owned Croatian broadband and IPTV provider, also announced that it has signed up with TVbeat, having previously collaborated with the TV analytics’ company during its pilot stage. Iskon’s feedback was a crucial to TVbeat’s development and Iskon was the first company to test TVbeat’s finished product.

Saša Kramar, CEO of Iskon adds: “During the development and the pilot phase, TVbeat demonstrated the benefits its insights can provide into TV consumer habits.  IPTV platforms offer a wide range of TV channels to their customers, and most of them are not included in standard TV audience measurement systems currently offered on the local market, so TVbeat will definitely be a useful tool.”
