CTH & Irdeto to develop OTT for Thai networks

CTH Public Company Limited, Irdeto and Inview today announced a partnership to develop an OTT and hybrid version of CTH’s cable service to provide its customers with services beyond its existing cable networks.

CTH is a leading service provider that brings together cable operators and is a major pay TV operator in the country. Its digital platform leads the way in providing OTT and hybrid services in Thailand. It offers its customers more than 140 channels, 30 in High Definition (HD), including premium content such as Barclays English Premier League (EPL) soccer matches.

Inview’s software platform enables all the services an operator needs to provide either a pure OTT or a hybrid broadcast and OTT offering in one seamless user interface. Its innovative Liberator middleware delivers a high-end, feature-rich user experience supporting a wide range of OTT services. It also enables the channels to efficiently promote content and generate new revenue streams from advertising and other services.

Irdeto is a world leader in Multiscreen, Media Protection and Revenue Assurance solutions. By leveraging Irdeto’s best-in-class Cloaked CA security, CTH can offer high quality digital entertainment services to customers with studio-grade content protection, but without cost and complexity of physical smart cards. With this new OTT/Hybrid project, Irdeto extends its cooperation with CTH from Media Protection on cable set-top boxes (STBs) to OTT and Hybrid STBs. Irdeto has already secured over several hundred thousand CTH STBs, underscoring its position as CTH’s prime Media Protection partner.

“The integration of Inview’s middleware with CTH’s content and Irdeto’s Media Protection solutions will provide a compelling proposition to future customers of CTH,” says Julie Austin, Inview’s CEO. “We will significantly broaden CTH’s reach, enhance its consumer experience and bring user interface knowledge to their viewers. We look forward to implementing and executing this project to customers later this year.”
