TV Connect 2014: SoftAtHome to present latest innovations

SoftAtHome, a provider of home operating platforms enabling convergent services for the digital home, will be using this year’s TV Connect in London to outline its latest major innovations in the field of Digital Home operator devices, extend its partnership with key actors of the industry and showcase its brand new solution CloudAtHome. Also starring on stand 45, SoftAtHome will present its “Cast” Dongle and a complete and ready-to-deploy 4K ecosystem. All this powered by SoftAtHome’s Universal Player, shortlisted for this year’s TV Connect Award in Best TV Experience and Best Digital Home Service categories.

2014 at TV Connect will celebrate the transition for the TV industry towards Ultra High Definition, with 4K content transmitted from international sporting events, including the upcoming FIFA World Cup. SoftAtHome will demo its complete end-to-end 4K ecosystem including HEVC decoding delivering true Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos and an adapted User Interface, especially designed for 4K, powered by its partner STMicroelectronics’ next-generation chipsets.

Also under the spotlights at TV Connect, one of SoftAtHome’s latest deployments illustrates an innovative way to manage content powered by the Cloud and redistribute on any screen.

With Accedo, an open-standards application store has been developed to enable operators to monetize home content through applications and their subscribers to customize their home environment, with News, Gaming, or Social networking apps.

Finally, SoftAtHome is proud to embrace a real breakthrough of the industry with its “Cast” Dongle: a revolutionary small factor form and cost-optimized device that can deliver OTT and premium content by using “Cast” technologies. You will be able to see what it can do on SoftAtHome’s Stand 45.

SoftAtHome has been shortlisted for the Best TV Experience Enhancement and Best Digital Home Service Innovation with its Universal Player for connected devices in the TV Connect Awards 2014. The Award ceremony will be held on the 19th of March 2014 at BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly, London.

Meet SoftAtHome on Stand 45, TV Connect, Olympia, London, 18- 20 March 2014.
