Telekom Slovenije offers interactive Champions League experience

Telekom Slovenije, Slovenia’s biggest IPTV, ISP, and mobile provider, announced its white-label OTT solution for operators and media companies based on its TViN platform last week. TViN is one of the first in the world to integrate UEFA LiveEx technology, providing sports fans following UEFA Champions League matches a better overview of other football games being played simultaneously.

“The UEFA LiveEx service gives football fans an upgraded UEFA Champions League experience and the TViN platform enables us to easily integrate the service on TV as well as on web and mobile, thus ensuring that our viewers never miss an important goal – no matter which Champions League game they are following,” says Mitja Lazar, Head of Internet and Multimedia Services Department at Telekom Slovenije.

With real-time on-screen notifications of goals, penalties, and red cards – even when other content is being viewed – this gives football fans following the game a unique perspective that encompasses all games being played. In addition to on-screen notifications, users can also set up SMS notifications, providing them with up-to-date reports complete with a video link on what’s happening on pitches around Europe, so they can catch up on the missed action.

To provide viewers with the ultimate experience, Envivio transcoding technology is used to adapt the stream to various devices. “As the TViN platform is available on three mobile platforms, as well as on the web and on TV, we needed a comprehensive solution to ensure the best possible quality on various screen sizes and devices,” commented Mitja Lazar. “Envivio helped us to achieve the best possible result, and to ensure that football fans following the game on TViN have an experience worthy of a UEFA Champions League game.”

Telekom Slovenije will be present at TV Connect 2014 (18-20 March), showcasing the TViN OTT solution in addition to the company’s other products for both operators and media companies.
