Sky D single out Sky Go in 2013 report

Reflecting on 2013, Sky Deutschland have hailed it “a milestone year.” The company delivered the first positive full year EBITDA under the Sky brand of €35 million (2012: negative €51 million), which represents a €86 million year-on-year improvement. Continued customer growth combined with a rising average revenue per customer (ARPU) led to this strong financial performance.

Total revenues, mainly driven by subscription revenues, increased by 16 percent, reaching €1,546 million (2012: €1,333 million).

The performance of new services was highlighted in the company’s statement. With the number of customer sessions more than doubling in 2013 to 70 million, Sky Go delivered, it said, “a new record performance.” During the year, the service was significantly expanded, advancing its leadership position in Germany and Austria. Meanwhile, the Snap by Sky over-the-top service was successfully launched in December 2013.

“We have delivered on our promise and achieved our first positive full year EBITDA,” says Brian Sullivan, CEO of Sky Deutschland “This is an important milestone for Sky. We have even more exciting plans for this year and expect a significant acceleration of net growth while maintaining a strong increase in revenues and EBITDA. 2013 has been a great year, and 2014 will be even better.”
