Are Comcast set to acquire Time Warner Cable?

According to reports by CNBC and other media outlets, Comcast is set to announce, on Thursday morning, that it has struck a deal with Time Warner Cable to acquire the cable MSO for $44 billion in stock – this would see Comcast acquire TWC for about $159 per share.

The prospective combination would create a cable MSO with 33 million subscribers.
