Spanish football slammed by €15 million fines over viewing rights

The CNMC has imposed fines of  €15 million upon Spanish multimedia communications group Mediapro and four football clubs (Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, ​​Sevilla and Racing Santander) for what CNMC identified as the violation of its resolution prohibiting the signing of broadcasting rights for a duration in excess of three seasons.

The specific penalties number € 6.5 million for Mediapro, €3.9 million for Real Madrid, € 3.6 million for Barcelona, €900.00 for Sevilla and € 30,000 for Racing Santander.
